Jean Lenke’s Red Rose Jazz Project spotlights the works of influential women composers and lyricists across jazz history, with a diverse lineup of timeless classics and original compositions. Rose Concerts pay tribute to legends like Dorothy Fields, Mary Lou Williams, Peggy Lee, Abbey Lincoln, Lizz Wright, Carla Bley, Joni Mitchell, and many more.
Jean Lenke, project leader and an accomplished vocalist from the Olympic Peninsula, will lead the performance alongside this group of talented musicians - Nelda Swigget – piano, Rachael Contorer – bass, Melanie Sehman – drums, and Tobi Stone – saxophone & flute Seattle Jazz Vespers is free and open to the public on the first Sunday night of each month (October through June) at 6:00 p.m. No tickets or reservations are needed.
